SSB Interview Preparation

SSB Interview Preparation

Hey!
Firstly, tell me are you a fresher of a repeater ?

You know what, it doesn’t matter😅
And what else should not matter is with what authority I’m writing this…LOL!

It’s from all my experiences from last 8 years….

How should one start with SSB Interview Preparation?
Which SSB coaching would be best would be best?
Best books for SSB Interview Preparation?

Will cover them all, firstly understand why SSB Interview is considered as the toughest?
1. Because SSB Board don’t tell you what they observed in you!
2. You don’t have a specific marking scheme of all the tests.
3. This is the accurate answer, “Because SSB Interview Preparation” asks for INTROSPECTION.
This is something, we are not taught in schools and at home in proper manner!

Even, look at yourself, tell me honestly, how many times you have left deep introspection for some cheap tricks and shortcuts?
Shortcuts are technically ‘advanced tool’ to enjoy and accelerate the process once you master the basics. And this applies everywhere!

So, coming back to how to prepare for SSB INTERVIEW?

SSB asks for 15 Officer- Like Qualities (OLQs) which are naturally present in some individuals and others have to do some hard work to get some!

Those set of tests:

SSB Interview Preparation starts and ends with 15OLQs only!
They can be clubbed in 4 categories…

Factor – I (Planning and Organizing)
1. Effective IntelligenceThis is not same as basic intelligence. Wo kehte hain a, “Modern problem requires modern solution!”, this way of arriving at modern solution is known as ‘Effective Intelligence’.
This may be achieved by Practicing ‘Thinking Big’ first. Gradually doing things with more risks (most of the times, that thin is not risky, but you are not ready to be brave enough to come out of your comfort zone and do it!)
Let the creativity inside you cherish! Implementing all the education & skills on ground.
Resourcefulness (you are an Indian bro, you are born with this, i.e. desi jugaad!)
Journaling (now you will think how is this one possible?) Writing & mapping helps you to think for a solution, it pushes your mental ceilings!
2. Reasoning AbilityFor this, we need to develop the “Art of Detachment”!
Why?
Because psychologically, we are ‘image& impression’ imprisoned. Matlab, agar mere kisi friend se terms bigad gae hai, to I cannot think any positive trait of him. I refrain to appreciate him. So, here comes ‘Art of Detachment’, kisi bhi chiz ko neutral or abstract tarike se jaano, samjo.
It also got some factors:
Receptivity: The capacity to comprehend and assimilate new ideas, involving interest, focus, and understanding.
Inquiring Attitude: A healthy curiosity that drives the desire to expand one’s general knowledge and life experiences. Ye to Fundamental Duty bhi hai!
Logical Reasoning: The skill of reaching conclusions or judgments through purely rational thinking, without letting emotions interfere.
Identifying Problem Essentials: The ability to clearly understand the situation, analyze various elements, prioritize them, and utilize them effectively to find a solution (after overcoming FOFO).
3. Organising AbilityIt is about management- management of people, time, emotions and most importantly the ‘work-in-hand’.
How to develop this?
By learning how to prioritise?
Eisenhower Matrix will help.
Doing things derived by discipline and not by motivation.
By doing “WHAT IS REQUIRED!”
Lastly, by taking up some responsibilities at home and in friend circle and doing it. (Maine kya theka le Rakha h sara kaam krne ka… Yes, ye jo bachpan se bolte aae ho, us se upr utho or lo responsibility.)
4. Power of ExpressionBolna zaruri nhi hai, saamne waale ko samaj aana zaruri hai!
Bs wo kr doge na, “Power of Expression” mutthi me hoga.
  >> Factor – II (Social Adjustment)

5. Social AdaptabilityIf you are reading this, means you are a social animal, and hell we are the most superior species then why can’t we adapt well?
Because there is a lot inside us, boiling, which is restricting us bond with others.
Do not pre- judge, go for it, do not be pre- occupied, smile and initiate bonding.
Do not let ‘lack of trust’, ‘fear of change’ stop you.
6. Co-operationWe are raised and taught to be ‘competitive’!
The moment you see someone doing better than you, you plan to chase and win over him.
Whereas, If someone is behind you, you feel little elevated (This is sadistic pleasure… it ain’t good!)
But, learn collaboration and cooperation, your win or someone else’s’ win is not important!
What is important is your goals, purpose of life and humanity!
7. Sense of ResponsibilityWhat’s your name?
Fill your name in these sentences…
Tumhare parents ye kehte hai ki [name] h to koi tension. He/she will see.
Tumhare dosto ne bola hai? Thank god [name] h, kaam asaan ho gaya…
Here, you got it!
  >> Factor – III (Social Effectiveness)
8. InitiativeYou must have heard this, “shuru kr di ana, bs aadhi jangg to yahi jeet li!”
Yes, upr jo bhi humne discuss kia, it will not come naturally to you, it is uncomfortable to do, and majorly uncomfortable to START!
But then, always remind yourself, “YOU ARE A LEADER”, and a leader always initiates! (and of course SUSTAINS, till the time the task is ACCOMPLISHED!)
9. Self ConfidenceIt is having faith in yourself.
Faith in the time of negative emotions, when you are scared, terrified, not- so confident, thriving, struggling and even failed!
Having faith ki tum kr loge, YOU WILL FIGURE IT OUT!
10. Speed of DecisionYou know who takes decision faster?
One who is overconfident and overlooks the consequences.
One who is floating in emotions pool, and land up taking bad decisions.

And you know who can’t take decisions?
One who don’t have faith on oneself.
One who is egoistic and cannot take up the tag of ‘bad decision maker’!
One who do not have strength to handle consequences later on… But, my dear, you don’t have to be any of the above…
You got it right?
11. Ability to Influence the GroupIt is not only about, ‘meri baat pura group maane…’
It is about, first understanding rationally what the task asks for… Organising it in your head, taking an initiative to do it, explain self- perspective, understanding team’s perspective, doing what is best for the task and the team (and lastly for you, aakhir Army bhi yahi kehti hai… “The safety, honour, and welfare of your country come first, always and every time. The honour, welfare, and comfort of the men you command come next. Your own ease, comfort, and safety come last, always and every time.”)

And lastly, sustaining it till the task gets ACCOMPLISHED!
This OLQ alone takes up whole list of OLQs. Hahaha!
12. LivelinessWo kehte hai na, kaam to krna padega, ab tum chahe haste-  haste kro ya rote- rote…’ To haste hue krna hi accha h na!
Or waise bhi, if your mind is happy and healthy, you perform better.
And, everyone likes to be around a joyful, cheerful person, who the hell always like to be with gloomy person?
Do you?
  >> Factor – IV (Dynamic)
13. DeterminationIska matlab kitna tikoge tum…
Know that setbacks and failure are the part of life, you cannot escape! So, deal with it! Think different, think creative, do it more strongly and what is hidden inside determination which no one talks about is “INTROSPECTION!
Hell, next time you fail, please start with this first…

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
-Albert Einstein
14. CourageFirst develop, emotional courage (be balanced and detached), courage to hold yourself, your people in times of crisis,
Then physical courage!
To develop this, you need enough emotional courage only!
Former will take you places 90% of times!
15. StaminaThe ability to endure extended periods of physical and mental stress, highlighting resilience.
It will grow naturally once you practice all mentioned above consistently…

So, this is how you should go about SSB Interview Preparation.
This is EXACTLY what is required to get recommended in SSB Interview!
Pathway is simple!

Lastly, jb bhi kahi faso, hamesha yaad rakhana, “DO WHAT IS REQUIRED…” ALWAYS………
